South Todd Elementary Announces New Principal

Tammy Mason has been selected as the new principal of South Todd Elementary School.

Mrs. Mason currently serves as an assistant principal of Kenwood Elementary School in Clarksville Tennessee. Mrs. Mason has spent ten years in administration with the Clarksville Montgomery County School System, both as an elementary assistant principal and academic coach. In addition to her experience in the elementary setting, Mason has spent 10 years in a secondary setting, eight as a classroom teacher and two years as a guidance counselor for grades 7-12 in Franklin County Public Schools in Frankfort, Kentucky.

 “Mrs. Mason demonstrates the experience and leadership skills necessary to build upon the tradition of excellence at South Todd Elementary School. South Todd Elementary focuses on a student-centered approach and staff are held to high levels of professionalism,” stated Superintendent Ed Oyler. “We are certain Mrs. Mason will work to foster a positive culture for continuous improvement in student achievement and opportunities with the staff and students at STES.”

Mrs. Mason resides in Russellville, Kentucky with her husband Forest. “I am very excited to come back to Todd County and reestablish relationships, and to have the opportunity to work with an amazing staff and community,” said Mason. “I feel very humbled and honored to have been chosen for this position by the South Todd SBDM Council, and I look forward to getting started.”

Mrs. Mason will have an opportunity to formally meet the staff of South Todd Elementary this Friday, May 17, with an open house and formal introduction to the community planned before school resumes in the fall.
