Masking Optional

Todd County School District’s COVID-19 School Operations Plan outlines that the wearing of face masks in our district be guided by the local incident rates. Todd County Schools has continued to closely monitor public health and local data since we returned to school in August. Cases peaked in September and again in January, however we have seen a significant decrease in cases.

Taking into consideration our local factors, includingLow County Incident Rate, Low School District Quarantines, Low School District Positive Cases, and Higher Local Hospital Capacity-- starting Monday, February 14th, masks will be OPTIONAL in our schools.  Any student or staff member who wishes to wear a mask will be welcome to do so.

Per federal order number 86 FR 8025, masks WILL STILL BE REQUIRED on school busses at all times.

We are committed to providing in-person instruction 5 days a week in the safest manner possible. Therefore, we will continue to closely monitor Todd County’s incidence rate and follow guidance from the Todd County Health Department and CDC guidelines in making decisions moving forward. If any of these local factors indicate a need, we will reconsider universal masking.

The safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority. We thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
