Kim Davis Selected As New Todd County Middle School Principal

From Mrs. Davis:

It is my pleasure to serve as the Todd County Middle School principal. This will be my fifth year as an administrator and first year as a principal. Prior to becoming principal, I was the assistant principal at TCMS.  Even though I am no longer in the classroom, I will always be a teacher at heart. I have 8 and a half years of classroom teaching experience, of which the majority of those were at TCMS and one year at Christian County High. My educational background includes an Associates in Applied Science from Hopkinsville Community College, a Bachelor of Science (Special Education LBD Dual Certification with General Elementary Education) from Murray State University, a Master of Arts in Education from Western Kentucky University (Special Education MSD with Teacher Leader Endorsement), and a Rank I in School Administration from Western Kentucky University.  When I began pursuing my education, I was considered a non-traditional student, and from my journey I learned how powerful, and life-changing education can be.  I intend to be an example to students and teachers that we should never stop learning.

My husband of 29 years and I have been blessed with two children who are now grown, and 4 grandchildren. I have the same expectations for my grandchildren as you do for your children, who I love as if they are my own. I want to see them excel and become productive human beings, who have ample opportunity to become whatever they want to be when they leave high school.

It is my privilege to lead Todd County Middle School and the many talented teachers and students here! My goal is to continue to provide a safe and supportive climate and culture at TCMS that is conducive to teaching and learning. By doing so, each individual student and teacher can experience growth to their highest potential. I look forward to interacting with all stakeholders in our school community this year!

Mr. Thomas:

Having served as the assistant principal for the past four years at Todd County Middle School, Mrs. Davis already has a wealth of knowledge of our students, staff, parents, and our community.  Mrs. Davis’ knowledge, experiences, and skill sets make her the perfect fit for Todd County Middle School to continue its growth trajectory.  One of Mrs. Davis’ goals at TCMS’ next principal is providing the support for our middle school students to grow academically and be critical thinkers.  She also wants to support growing teacher leaders at TCMS.

I am grateful to each of the Todd County Middle School SBDM Council Members for their assistance and support throughout the principal selection process.
