Calvery Sparks Fourth Quarter Comeback Win for Rebels at Russellville

Todd County Central overcame a slow start to rally for a 68-64 win over Russellville Friday, picking up their second straight win after an 0-4 start.

The even quarters proved to be the undoing for Russellville. The Rebels outscored their border rival 24-10 in the second quarter and 25-20 in the final frame.

Jon Calvery scored nine of his team-high 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Rebels overcame a 44-43 deficit after three quarters.

Austin Rager scored 13 points, and Kimahri Briggs came off the bench to score all eight of his points in the second quarter that helped spur their comeback. D.J. Johnson also scored eight points for the Rebels, who have won four straight over Russellville after snapping a 14-game losing streak last year.

Jacob Naylor hit five of Russellville’s nine 3-pointer and finished with a game-high 28 points for the Panthers, who fell to 0-3.

Todd County Central (2-4) will play at South Warren Tuesday and hist Logan County for a 13th District doubleheader Friday.
